College Uses Trimble Ag Software in Precision Ag Program

Trimble Agriculture partnered with Ivy Tech Community College to help close a regional skills gap in modern farming. The college’s Precision Ag Program needed practical, industry-relevant training to prepare students — including many without farm backgrounds — for jobs that now require GIS and farm data management skills, and local agribusiness leaders were urging more workforce-ready graduates.

Ivy Tech integrated Trimble Ag Software’s educational suite (teacher guides, student workbooks, 15 lesson plans and real farm data) into its GIS and farm-data classes to give students hands-on experience. Students and faculty report the platform is intuitive and streamlined, improving field planning and record-keeping; the program has drawn tech-savvy students, earned industry praise, and produced graduates better prepared for modern agriculture.
