City of Jyväskylä - Customer Case Study

The City of Jyväskylä partnered with Trimble to build a smart city by digitizing municipal services and making administration more efficient and citizen‑friendly. The challenge was to avoid duplicate data entry and manual processing by integrating front‑end eServices with up‑to‑date back‑end systems (especially GIS and registers), enable online and mobile participation, and ensure tools and workflows supported truly “smart” interactions rather than static forms.

Trimble’s eServices, deployed through the My Jyväskylä single‑sign‑on portal, digitized processes from site offerings and permits to a boat‑mooring reservation system that automatically displays addresses and available moorings on a map for selection, completion and payment—eliminating manual handling and saving staff time. A centralized Trimble Feedback solution routes citizen input to the right contacts (and managers), while mobile access extends services to smartphones, improving data accuracy, uptake and operational efficiency.
