A Trimble Case Study
Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is one of the world’s busiest hubs, serving more than 47 million passengers and 700 daily flights. Facing a $3.1 billion, 10-year capital expansion to modernize terminals, roadways and runways while continuing daily operations, CLT needed to replace paper-based, siloed processes with a scalable way to manage construction and thousands of existing assets.
CLT deployed Trimble e-Builder for digital project delivery and Trimble Cityworks for GIS-centric enterprise asset management, plus Trimble geospatial tools for precise surveying. Centralizing workflows into a connected data environment enabled streamlined procurement, document control, RFIs, cost tracking and over 50 cross-department processes, while Cityworks automated inspections, work orders and preventive maintenance. The result: faster, more transparent project delivery, better asset lifecycle management, cost and time savings, improved safety and coordination, and completion of major projects like concourse and terminal expansions.
