A Complete Picture from Land and Sea

LE34, the largest surveying and land management provider in Scandinavia, was contracted by Arctic Mineral Resources AS to carry out a detailed terrain survey for the AIM 4-0 project in western Norway. The challenge was to capture accurate above- and below-water site data for mine planning and environmental monitoring, including a tunnel, mine entrance, shoreline, and fjord seabed, using Trimble tools.

Trimble helped LE34 deliver a complete mapping solution using the MX9 mobile mapping system, X7 3D scanner, S7 total station, R12i GNSS receiver, and Trimble Business Center software. The team completed data collection in just 2.5 field days, producing point clouds, a surface model, and control points that saved the client significant time and cost while improving safety, accuracy, and long-term monitoring for the mine project.
