Turner Construction Company, a large global builder with a 10,000-person team, needed a better way to support complex projects, preconstruction, estimating, and self-perform concrete work. The company’s Seattle VDC team turned to Trimble tools, including SketchUp, to move beyond traditional 2D workflows and create more accurate, efficient model-based planning.

Trimble helped Turner implement a digital workflow using SketchUp, Tekla, Trimble RealWorks, TX8 Scanners, and Trimble Total Stations for modeling, scanning, layout, and constructability planning. The result was less waste, fewer errors, improved production, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, with SketchUp used for more than 50% of Turner’s modeling tasks and Trimble software helping streamline just-in-time deliveries and prefabrication.
