ScaffPlan, an Australian software company for the scaffolding industry, needed a faster, safer way to design and engineer complex scaffold structures. Built as a 3D plug-in on Trimble’s Tekla Structures platform, the solution was created to bring BIM capabilities to an industry where projects are often urgent, high-risk, and costly when done poorly.

With Trimble, ScaffPlan launched a color-coded 3D scaffolding design system that combines calculations and engineering in one platform, reducing data loss and simplifying use for non-experts. The software is now used in 16 countries, with interest from 28 more, and upcoming releases are expected to save users up to 30% of the time needed to create 3D models.
