A Trimble Case Study
The State Water Works Authority of Turkey tasked Eren Construction with building a 63 km irrigation channel to irrigate 211,375 hectares of lowland Mesopotamia, requiring movement of roughly 17 million m³ of earth and an ultra-precise final slope of 0.01%. Remote terrain of volcanic basalt and limestone, heavy blasting and crushing, and time-consuming manual grade checks made meeting specifications and budget a major challenge.
Eren worked with Trimble dealers to install Trimble GCS900 3D grade control across its fleet, enabling real-time blade and bucket guidance inside the cab and faster, more accurate mass excavation. The system doubled immediate productivity, allowed 4.5 km to be finished in three weeks with one excavator, and helped complete the full 63 km about 30% faster than expected while reducing material overages, fuel and machine hours—delivering strong cost savings and a rapid ROI.
