A Trimble Case Study
Solve Structural Design faced the complex challenge of detailing heavily congested rebar for the basement raft of the One Nine Elms skyscraper development in London, where a top-down construction method and multiple vertical elements made 2D coordination risky and time-consuming. Using Trimble’s Tekla Structures, the team needed to ensure rebar continuity, avoid clashes, and keep the project on schedule for one of London’s longest continuous concrete pours.
Trimble’s Tekla Structures enabled Solve Structural Design to create detailed 3D models with automatic clash detection and color-coded visualization, helping the team identify and resolve constructability issues early. The result was a buildable final model that supported 5,000+ tonnes of reinforcement, helped complete the rebar work in 12 weeks, and enabled a 4,850 m3 concrete pour in a single 22-hour operation. Trimble Connect also improved cloud-based collaboration and on-site access to model data, supporting accurate installation and efficient delivery.
