A Trimble Case Study
Danjord, a leading Danish civil contractor, was hired to build the new Kildebjerg Ry golf course, a complex project requiring precise shaping of greens, fairways and drainage to 5 cm contours across variable soils and elevations. Traditional staking and surveying would have been time-consuming, costly and disruptive, and Danjord needed a safer, faster way to translate the architect’s digital designs into accurate, stakeless on-site execution.
Danjord equipped a mixed fleet of dozers and excavators with Trimble GCS900 and Cat AccuGrade 3D machine-control systems via SITECH Danmark and established a GNSS base station for centimeter-level positioning. In-cab design models, live cut/fill guidance and automatic blade control enabled real-time design changes, reduced the need for survey crews and specialist operators, and cut idle time and fuel use. The result: major labor and cost savings, faster production (operator-reported productivity gains around 50% and up to nearly double for some tasks), few design corrections and full fleet rollout of GNSS control.
