Accelerating collaboration and real-time data exchange between the office and field with Trimble Connect

Bennett Steel, a structural steel fabricator, detailer, and erector, needed a better way to coordinate sequencing, schedules, and project information between the office, shop, and field. After adopting Trimble’s Tekla PowerFab, the company still relied on manual, paper-based processes to align fabrication and field crews and wanted a more efficient way to share real-time job data.

Trimble implemented Trimble Connect, a cloud-based collaboration platform within Tekla PowerFab, to let teams share models, drawings, and progress updates from anywhere. The results were significant: sequencing time dropped from 4–5 days to less than a day, job coordination that once took up to a week now takes half a day, and Bennett Steel reports substantially more pieces erected per day, lower crew costs, and improved profitability.
