Arup worked on the complex Marina Bay Sands project in Singapore, where its engineering team faced the challenge of handling highly distinctive structures, including sloped towers, a long skypark, and a complex convention centre roof. To support the steel design and fabrication workflow, Arup used Trimble’s Tekla Structures and relied on 3D modelling data imported from multiple BIM sources.

Trimble’s Tekla enabled Arup to translate design data into fabrication-ready documents and use the software earlier in the design phase for the convention centre roof. The result was a faster workflow and an estimated two-month reduction in the project schedule, while also giving Arup more confidence to use Trimble on future steel projects.
