Wembley Stadium From 160 phase models to a single BIM

Wembley Stadium, the 90,000-seat football venue in London, faced the challenge of managing an extremely complex rebuild with thousands of structural intersections and a design split into 160 phase models. Trimble’s Tekla Structures software was used to model and coordinate the Arch, Bowl, Parametric Perimeter Truss, and Roof components, while also supporting analysis, reporting, and CNC production.

Trimble helped convert those phase models into a single BIM, enabling accurate coordination and construction staging across the project. The solution allowed 3D coordinates to be shared with contractors and visually tracked progress from Excel data, supporting precise execution of the stadium’s massive steel and concrete structure and contributing to the successful delivery of the world’s largest football stadium with every seat under cover.
