Luminary Clash-free construction with model-based collaboration

Luminary, a multiform high-rise project in Finland, faced major design and construction challenges due to its complex geometry, strict tolerance requirements, multiple elevations, and constant late-stage changes from future residents. Using Trimble’s Tekla Structures and model-based collaboration tools, the project team had to coordinate precast, steel, cast-in-place, and MEP elements while managing limited site space and demanding foundations.

Trimble enabled a highly accurate, shared BIM workflow through Tekla Model Sharing, letting designers, the main contractor, and the precast manufacturer work from the same real-time model. The result was clash-free coordination, model-based layout and production, direct transfer of model data to manufacturing systems, and faster on-site work; the Tekla model also generated 3,070 drawings and supported 2,580 units and about 220,000 objects in the project.
