AFAS Stadion - Customer Case Study

AFAS Stadion in Alkmaar, Netherlands faced a major safety and structural challenge after part of the Molenaar stand roof collapsed in high winds in August 2019. To rebuild the roof safely and improve resistance to rain and wind, the stadium project team worked with Trimble tools, including Trimble Connect, as part of a BIM-based engineering and construction process.

Trimble helped the team keep everyone aligned with the latest 3D model, drawings, and site information through tablets and laptops, while point cloud data and Tekla Structures supported accurate design and assembly. As a result, communication improved, site crews could understand details like joints and bolt sizes at a glance, and miscommunication and work irregularities were minimized during the project.
