15% Cost Savings with Streamlined BIM Workflow

J.M. Brennan is a third‑generation, family‑owned mechanical contractor in Milwaukee (est. 1932) that provides HVAC, plumbing, process piping and sheet metal services. Facing the need to boost productivity and produce higher Level of Detail (LOD) designs with real‑world manufacturing specifications for prefabrication, the company expanded its BIM capabilities (started in 2017) to eliminate data loss in exchanges and accelerate constructible design work.

By adopting Trimble SysQue along with Trimble RTS‑655, SysQue Supports and Trimble Tablet, J.M. Brennan converted Revit models into data‑rich, fabrication‑ready models and spool sheets, enabling precise point layout and shop prefabrication. The new workflow increased prefabrication to about 90%, delivered roughly 15% overall cost savings, reduced labor and material waste, accelerated installation, and improved coordination with other trades.
