Tekla Structures helps gain significant efficiency in Combined Cycle Power Project

Larsen & Toubro’s L&T-S&L engineering team faced a highly complex combined cycle power plant project in the Middle East, with critical steam turbine generator foundation detailing, dense reinforcement, embedded parts, and a demanding bar bending schedule. Using Trimble’s Tekla Structures, the team needed to deliver accurate foundation drawings and rebar schedules under tight timelines with minimal room for error.

Trimble implemented Tekla Structures to model concrete geometry, embedded items, and reinforcement in 3D, while automatically generating BBS layouts, bar schedules, and detailed drawings. The result was zero RFIs, better site coordination, and a smoother execution process, with about a 35% reduction in effort versus manual preparation and project completion around 3–4 weeks earlier than planned.
