A Trimble e-Builder Case Study
Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Oregon’s only public academic health center, runs a multi-site capital program—including $60–100M in sustaining projects and about $150M in other capital projects annually—across academic, research and healthcare facilities. The program struggled with segmented data, spreadsheets and limited software, making it difficult to consolidate information from different sites and demonstrate a net‑zero financial outcome each year.
OHSU adopted e-Builder (initial adoption in 2012, comprehensive roll‑out in 2021) to digitize contracts, change orders, invoice approvals, RFIs, forms and schedules, later moving to an unlimited‑user model. Centralized reporting, templates and closeout checklists have increased visibility and accountability, kept tasks moving through enforced monthly data entry, expanded stakeholder access, and given managers the program‑level insights needed to stay on budget and on schedule.
