Optimized Pavement Treatment Projects Using AgileAssets® Pavement Analyst™ and Maintenance Manager™

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), which manages more than 25,000 lane miles of highway plus bridges, rail rights-of-way, airports and other assets, sought to improve its statewide pavement management program. Key challenges included establishing consistent condition and distress ratings, integrating new tools with legacy data-collection systems, rolling out the program operationally across the state, and training staff.

NMDOT implemented AgileAssets Pavement Analyst™ and Maintenance Manager™ to generate pavement condition reports, group and quantify distress indices, and prioritize cost-effective treatments using an optimization approach. The result was more effective use of pavement funding, higher returns on investments, longer‑lasting roadways and improved service and safety—outcomes that earned NMDOT a nomination for the AgileAssets AXIAM award.
