A Trimble e-Builder Case Study
The New Mexico Public School Facilities Authority (PSFA) oversees planning, building and maintaining K–12 facilities across 91 school districts (about 900 schools, 61 million sq ft) with $19.5 billion in assets and a 50-person staff. After 2001 funding reforms, PSFA struggled with disparate systems managing 697 projects worth over $5 billion, multiple funding sources, manual audits, a statewide Facility Condition Index of 71%, heavy contract review periods and frequent litigation on roughly one in three projects.
PSFA implemented e-Builder’s cloud-based, single-vendor capital project management solution to manage the entire project lifecycle, standardize workflows and deliver real-time business intelligence. The platform centralized project data, automated audit reporting, improved accountability to stakeholders and drove contractual clarity—reducing litigation to nearly zero, saving taxpayer dollars, lowering staff burdens and enabling resources to be redirected to other priorities.
