Kentucky Transportation Cabinet - Customer Case Study

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) faced a sudden, large-scale challenge after a 2018 highway plan provided $350 million to renovate or replace 340 bridges in two years. Previously dependent on spreadsheets and manual paperwork, KYTC needed a fast, integrated software solution that could be implemented quickly and give dozens of partners (consultants, contractors and state agencies) shared access to project data.

e-Builder was deployed as a centralized, scalable program-management platform by a 22‑firm team led by Stantec with support from KFA, enabling the team to gather data on more than 1,000 bridges, complete screening within the 120‑day target, and build a full project workflow in under a year. The system now serves as a single source of truth—used on 400+ bridges—streamlining reporting, cost tracking and collaboration so projects move through screening, design, bidding and closeout more efficiently.
