A Trimble e-Builder Case Study
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) sought to improve decision-making for its pavement and maintenance teams responsible for a vast network — more than 25,000 lane miles, nearly 3,000 bridges and culverts, airports, rest stops and trails. Key challenges included consolidating seven legacy databases into a single system, integrating new software with existing pavement data collection, time-and-attendance and fleet systems, and training staff statewide to use the integrated tools effectively.
NMDOT implemented AgileAssets Pavement Analyst (PMS) and Maintenance Manager (MMS) as integrated components, consolidated data into one database, and connected the PMS/MMS to existing systems while training users. The result was optimized decision-making with better project targeting and reporting, increased efficiency and productivity, reduced operating costs, improved cross‑functional coordination, and safer, longer‑lasting roadways — efforts that earned an industry award nomination.
