The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) needed to modernize pavement management across roughly 14,000 lane miles and a wide range of transportation assets. Its goals were to improve decision‑making and budget allocation, standardize data‑collection procurement, and turn automated distress data into actionable results; key challenges included reconfiguring engineering decision frameworks, converting raw data into deterioration indices, building performance models and decision trees, integrating with legacy systems, and training staff.
