A Trimble e-Builder Case Study
Brigham Young University–Idaho, a 430‑acre campus serving 27,000 students, was facing growing pains from rapid expansion and dozens of annual projects: limited visibility into actual spend and budgets, weeks‑long efforts to compile outdated data from disparate systems, chaotic paper‑based document storage, inconsistent project processes, and no reliable way to forecast future expenses. The university initially adopted a competing platform but replaced it when it failed to meet their needs.
Within two years of implementing e‑Builder, BYU‑Idaho centralized over 29,000 current and historic documents, gained drill‑down budget and cost visibility rolled up to program level, and standardized workflows across planning, design, procurement, construction and operations. The unified PMIS is widely adopted by vendors, contractors, architects, campus users and auditors, enabling real‑time financial reporting, more confident decision‑making, regular project accounting and significantly improved transparency and efficiency.
