Terra-Gen commissions 810 MW hybrid site with Trimark Associates

Terra-Gen, the client and EPC for the Edwards Sanborn project, faced the challenge of managing and optimizing the world's largest solar-plus-storage facility, a complex 810MW AC hybrid site comprised of seven separate resources. To participate profitably in California's open energy markets and ensure stable power delivery, they engaged vendor Trimark Associates, Inc. to provide intelligent plant controls and a utility-scale SCADA system.

Trimark implemented its power plant controller (PPC) for each resource, which makes real-time generation and charge/discharge decisions. A key feature was the Dynamic Loss Compensator (DLC), which calculates energy losses and adjusts control points to maximize output. This solution from Trimark ensured the project could deliver the maximum power allowed, optimizing its performance and revenue generation.
