Chevron deploys 10.5 MW energy market automation with Trimark Associates

The customer, Chevron, required a SCADA and metering solution for its Chevron 2 and 8.5 solar project, a 10.5 MW photovoltaic installation in Richmond, California. The challenge involved integrating various field devices, including inverters, a solar tracking system, and CAISO-approved meteorological stations, to provide the necessary telemetry data to the California ISO (CAISO) for market participation. Vendor Trimark Associates, Inc. was engaged to provide the necessary products and services.

Trimark Associates, Inc. integrated the site's diverse devices into its Trimark Data Gateway, creating a pathway to deliver telemetry data to the CAISO EMS. These data points were then assimilated into Trimark’s Vantage HMI, making real-time and historical data accessible for performance analysis. This solution successfully provided the data delivery and monitoring capabilities required for the project to operate within the CAISO market.
