TNB accelerates smart meter deployment across 10.6 million customers with Trilliant

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia's largest electricity utility, sought to accelerate its national smart meter deployment as part of its broader energy transition vision. To meet this challenge, TNB extended its strategic partnership with vendor Trilliant to gain access to their next-generation AMI network technology and a comprehensive maintenance and support agreement.

Trilliant implemented a holistic solution that included embedding a locally manufactured Trilliant Communication Module in every smart meter and deploying a reliable network to handle the high data traffic. This provided TNB with the timely, data-driven insights needed to improve billing efficiency, enhance forecasting and planning, and improve outage management. The collaboration with Trilliant has positioned TNB to advance its sustainability goals and provide consumers with more control over their energy use.
