SOR Technology, a 250‑employee IT company supporting private vacation clubs and resorts with 24/7 call centers and remote staff, struggled with an on‑premises free XMPP server that only IT could configure, lacked cross‑platform mobile clients, and forced many employees to fall back to SMS. To address reliable, on‑premises messaging that integrates with existing infrastructure, SOR evaluated and deployed Trillian’s on‑premises Trillian Server.
Trillian implemented a full on‑premises solution with iOS/Android clients, administratively controlled group chats, Active Directory single sign‑on, centralized archiving for compliance, and integrations including the Trillian chatbot “Tricia McMillan,” Jenkins hooks, monitoring alerts, and custom slash commands. The Trillian deployment drove rapid company‑wide adoption (replacing SMS workarounds), simplified onboarding and administration, provided auditable chat history, and delivered real‑time collaboration and alerting that SOR credits with markedly improving operational communications.
