Electronic System Services (ESSI Controls) needed to ensure high speed and performance while upgrading the Niagara-based building management systems for several schools. Their challenge was to manage a large-scale operation with over 63,000 points and meet key objectives for reliable performance, large alarming capacity, and suitability for an HTML5 environment. Vendor Tridium provided its new JACE 8000 hardware platform and Niagara 4 software as part of a beta program to address these needs.

The solution from Tridium involved installing JACE 8000 controllers, which successfully integrated various protocols like BACnet and Modbus. The results were immediate and significant; overall CPU usage was reduced by 30 percent compared to previous hardware, and the system's history and alarming capacity exceeded the project's demanding requirements, delivering the needed performance and flexibility.
