Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, which manages 9 properties in Malaysia and employs more than 5,000 people, was struggling with a time-consuming, error-prone payroll and HR process built around diskettes, spreadsheets, and multiple legacy systems. The company lacked timely visibility into manpower costs and had difficulty generating reports and processing payroll efficiently across its properties. Tricor Group implemented unify | HRS, a Microsoft Azure-powered solution that standardized payroll and HR across Shangri-La’s properties, improved reporting and financial visibility, and enabled employee self-service pay slip access. The results were significant: payroll processing time dropped from about three days to less than a day, reports that once took several days to consolidate can now be generated in minutes, and manual bank submissions and printed pay slips were eliminated, improving efficiency and reducing paper use.
