SPAR ICS accelerates testing 800% for SAP eCommerce projects

SPAR ICS, the ecommerce arm of SPAR, faced highly complex SAP-based ecommerce landscapes with multiple front-end and back-end systems, payment and loyalty integrations, and demanding test data and environment needs. To support faster agile delivery, SPAR turned to Tricentis and its Tosca test automation platform, alongside Tricentis Service Virtualization, to replace much of its manual testing and manage complex end-to-end scenarios more efficiently.

Tricentis implemented scriptless, model-based automated testing across multiple online shop variations and reduced dependencies on connected applications, helping SPAR integrate regression testing into continuous deployment. The results were significant: SPAR cut test execution time from hours to less than two minutes per test case, ran more than 84,000 automated tests in 2019, and achieved an 800% increase in testing speed versus 2018, while also lowering test environment costs and enabling more frequent, confident deployments.
