Case Study: SCHUFA achieves 95% test automation and halves regression time with Tricentis

A Tricentis Case Study

SCHUFA optimizes efficiency, accelerates time to value, and reduces costs

SCHUFA, founded in 1927, is Germany’s largest consumer credit bureau, holding more than 655 million records covering some 66 million people and processing over 275,000 reports and updates daily. As SCHUFA migrates decades-old host applications to modern J2EE platforms, it faced increasingly short release cycles and mounting pressure to complete testing in far less than its four-week average, while shifting from technical, scripted tests to business-facing test cases and bringing testing back in-house from an external factory.

Using Tricentis, SCHUFA automated 95% of its regression test portfolio—covering both GUI and non‑GUI scenarios—and adopted a model‑based approach that lets nontechnical business testers create and reuse test scenarios. The result was a halving of regression execution and analysis time (reducing time-to-value to two weeks), lower testing costs, and faster, more maintainable releases.
