A Tricentis Case Study
proALPHA, a Germany-based ERP provider serving more than 1,700 customers across 48 countries, faced a growing QA bottleneck: a single technical tester maintained abstract scripts embedded in 1,200+ automated test cases (many up to 30 steps) that were difficult to understand and increasingly time-consuming to maintain—maintenance had become more time-intensive than test execution.
Tricentis implemented a model-based test automation approach that eliminated script dependency and enabled nontechnical business testers to create and reuse test scenarios. The change cut testing time from 10 days to 10 hours (~95% faster), made maintenance 20% faster, doubled model-based automation, and allowed the QA suite to scale to nearly 1,800 complex test cases with over 300 steps, reducing costs and accelerating time-to-value.
