Case Study: Dell achieves unified testing and faster delivery with Tricentis

A Tricentis Case Study

Preview of the Dell Case Study

How Dell ISG unified testing across diverse DevOps teams and toolsets

Dell ISG, part of Dell, faced a fragmented testing environment where different teams used inconsistent best practices, methodologies, and more than 20 automation frameworks, making it difficult to standardize testing across a CI/CD/CT pipeline. Dell turned to Tricentis, using Tricentis qTest to unify test management and orchestration while integrating with tools like GitHub, Jira, JFrog Artifactory, and Apache Kafka.

Tricentis implemented a centralized test repository and consistent test execution process that worked across teams regardless of methodology or framework, with real-time results flowing into Jira and broader reuse of test assets. The impact included faster mean time to delivery, lower costs from duplicate testing, better coverage of integration points, and improved agility and throughput; the approach was successful enough to expand from the Storage division to Dell ISG’s ~15,000-person organization, with Tricentis Tosca also being adopted as the preferred no-code/low-code automation option for new work.
