McCain Foods transforms PowerApps collaboration with TribalScale, enabling real-time multi-user editing

McCain Foods faced significant challenges with its internal manufacturing operations tool, DDDS, which was built on PowerApps. The tool suffered from poor performance when rendering complex workflows, allowed only one user to edit at a time, and lacked testing support, which hampered collaboration and threatened reliability. To address this, McCain partnered with vendor TribalScale to enhance the PowerApps platform.

TribalScale implemented a solution using the PowerApps Component Framework (PCF) integrated with React and Fluent UI. This integration unlocked real-time multi-user editing, dramatically improved performance and stability, and introduced automated testing with Jest. As a result, the transformed DDDS tool became a robust and scalable cornerstone of operational efficiency, enabling smoother collaboration and improving developer confidence and release quality.
