Tulane University secures over 13,000 end users with easy-to- manage anti-malware solution

Tulane University, a private research university in New Orleans with more than 13,000 students and roughly 13,000 endpoints (mixed Mac and Windows), faced mounting endpoint security challenges across distinct user groups—students, faculty and staff. Their previous anti‑malware product missed infections, caused performance problems and intrusive pop‑ups, and was difficult to manage and change policies, so IT needed a solution that was easy to deploy, unobtrusive and workable in a higher‑education environment where users must participate.

After a two‑month proof of concept, Tulane deployed Trend Micro Enterprise Security for Endpoints (OfficeScan), rolling out the solution in days and planning coverage for all 13,000 endpoints.
