Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, a UK emergency service with 1,500 staff across 50 stations, migrated its workforce to Microsoft 365 and discovered a significant security gap that threatened ISO compliance and remote-working readiness. The IT team needed stronger visibility and control over cloud apps and endpoints to protect staff and critical systems.
To close that gap they deployed Trend Micro Smart Protection Complete and Deep Discovery Inspector, using Apex Central for centralized logging and management. The solution improved visibility into Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive usage, blocked targeted attacks (including risks from legacy protocols), reduced administrative overhead, and extended protection to remote endpoints. The service is now planning a move to Apex One for a fully cloud-based setup to cut power and server maintenance costs.
