Trend Micro Delivers Maximum Protection for Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK, a leading cancer charity with about 3,900 employees and thousands of researchers and volunteers, needed to protect more than 2,000 active users across physical machines, VMware virtual desktops and mobile devices. With rising threats and the risk that traditional security would drain virtual resources and harm performance, IT sought a virtual-ready solution that could secure VDI and endpoints without disrupting services.

After trials, the charity deployed Trend Micro Deep Security for its VDI and Smart Protection for Endpoints for physical machines. The solutions integrated tightly with VMware, provided virtual patching and instant‑on protection with no performance hit, and included staff training and flexible licensing. As a result, mission‑critical systems remain secure and compliant with no service disruptions, VMs are always protected, and Cancer Research UK is expanding its use of Trend Micro.
