Thumbay Group Reinforces Cybersecurity for the United Arab Emirates’ Healthcare Sector with Trend Micro

Thumbay Group, a Dubai-based healthcare conglomerate with hospitals, pharmacies and a university hospital serving patients from more than 175 countries, faced rising ransomware, malware and phishing threats as it accelerated digital services and teleconsultation. With interconnected entities and strict UAE healthcare regulations (DHA and GHSI), the group needed a centralized security platform that extended beyond endpoint protection to safeguard networks, data centers and vulnerable applications.

Thumbay deployed Trend Micro’s Apex One, Deep Security, TippingPoint and Deep Discovery Analyzer in a mix of SaaS and on‑premises deployments, giving the IT team 360-degree, real-time visibility and a single console for management. The implementation reduced daily attacks, enabled remote monitoring, and delivered strong results: 7,600 malicious communications neutralized in the initial analysis, ~600k attempted attacks blocked by TippingPoint (including >10k critical) in three weeks, and 2,498 vulnerabilities virtually patched on nine critical servers in one month.
