Syndicate Bank Secures 25,000 Endpoints from Ransomware with Trend Micro Endpoint Security

Syndicate Bank, one of India’s oldest retail banks with 35,000 employees and more than 4,000 branches, faced rising ransomware and cybercrime threats and needed to ensure up-to-date virus protection and prevent data loss across a pan‑Indian network of 25,000 endpoints, including remote and underbanked branches. The bank required a solution that could be rolled out centrally without disrupting operations and that would handle bandwidth constraints and remote deployments.

Trend Micro, working with CMS IT Services, deployed OfficeScan (XGen) with an integrated endpoint DLP to 25,000 devices—6,000 of which have DLP enabled—using a centralized, “in‑motion” rollout completed in 60 days. The deployment increased virus‑update coverage, extended protection against ransomware and unknown threats, and reduced DLP complexity and cost while improving visibility and control to safeguard sensitive data across endpoints, cloud, and removable media.
