Case Study: McGill University Health Centre detects and stops major attacks faster with Trend Micro Deep Discovery

A Trend Micro Case Study

Preview of the McGill University Health Centre Case Study

Strengthening its security posture with in-depth global intelligence

The McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) is a leading academic health system in Canada that handles hundreds of thousands of patient visits and thousands of surgeries annually. Faced with rising threats to sensitive patient data and a complex, heterogeneous network, MUHC needed faster, more accurate threat detection and more efficient vulnerability management than its open-source tools could provide.

Working with IBM and Trend Micro, MUHC deployed an integrated security intelligence platform based on IBM QRadar and Trend Micro Deep Discovery that analyzes roughly 700 events per second across about 3,000 assets. The solution correlates millions of events into actionable incidents, cuts analysis time from days to minutes, helps uncover and stop about five major attacks a year, improves prioritization of vulnerabilities, and has also boosted network performance and operational visibility.
