South Carolina State Library Modernizes Security Protections with Trend Micro

South Carolina State Library, the official state library and document repository in Columbia, SC, supports government agencies and public computer users statewide. With patrons bringing in infected flash drives, increasing ransomware threats to public institutions, and a previous security vendor that delivered poor support and hard-to-manage updates, the library needed to modernize its defenses and improve visibility across endpoints.

The library deployed Trend Micro Apex One as a Service for automated, always-updated endpoint protection and added Trend Micro Vision One (XDR) for cross‑environment detection and investigation. Implementation took three days, and the tools delivered stronger ransomware blocking, customizable dashboards, fewer machine reimages, reduced staff time on security monitoring, and faster vendor support—significantly improving overall security posture.
