Royal Visio Strengthens its Grip on Security with Trend Micro

Royal Visio is a Dutch expert center for care, education and services for the visually impaired with over 2,900 employees across 30 locations and an IT estate of roughly 1,100 thin clients, 1,200 laptops and 150 virtual servers. After a ransomware incident that required time-consuming recovery from backups, the organization concluded its Microsoft-only controls didn’t provide complete protection, central visibility or the reporting needed for audits and to proactively manage threats.

Visio implemented Trend Micro Smart Protection Suite (with partner SLTN) to secure endpoints, servers and mobile devices and gain a central dashboard and automated patching. The deployment delivered up-to-date, organization-wide visibility, machine-learning ransomware protection, simplified per-user licensing and greater confidence in security — while positioning Visio to handle growing mobile use and a future move to cloud/SaaS.
