Magnit, one of Russia’s largest retail chains with over 21,000 outlets and 300,000+ employees, faced heightened cyber risk due to its vast, distributed infrastructure and diverse network devices. The company needed continuous traffic analysis and protection against advanced threats—including zero‑day attacks, encryption malware and ransomware—while reducing false positives and the heavy labor burden on its security team as it scaled and supported many remote workers.

To address this, Magnit deployed Trend Micro Deep Discovery Inspector and Deep Discovery Analyzer in late 2019. The solutions provide continuous monitoring across 105+ protocols, sandboxed analysis, and visibility into targeted and zero‑day attacks, feeding the SOC for faster investigation. As a result, Magnit improved early detection, lowered false positives and analyst workload, accelerated response times, and better protected employee workstations during remote work; the company is also considering expanding to email inspection.
