Murray City School District Secures Endpoints in Digital Transformation for Teachers and Students

Murray City School District (Utah) serves about 6,000 students and made national headlines for providing free high‑speed internet and Chromebooks during the pandemic. Extending internet access to thousands of K–12 endpoints exposed the district to heightened cyber risks, and the existing security vendor lacked strong Mac support and responsive service—leaving the small IT team stretched thin and the network vulnerable to ransomware and other threats.

Working with partner Teknologia, MCSD deployed Trend Micro Apex One as a Service and Trend Micro Vision One (XDR) in December 2020. The migration (including a fast uninstaller for the old product) now protects more than 900 endpoints, provides immediate incident alerts, endpoint encryption, and XDR root‑cause analysis, and gives the small IT staff a single, responsive platform to detect, manage, and respond to threats—enabling the district to securely extend internet access to students.
