Japan Telecom Giant NTT DOCOMO Secures Internal Systems and Customer Services with Trend Micro™ Deep Security™

NTT DOCOMO, Japan’s largest telecommunications company serving over 71 million customers, began using AWS in 2012 to make IT more responsive for mobile services and data analysis. Its Cloud Solution Team faced strict internal regulations — 280 security requirements — and needed protection beyond native AWS controls to safely launch and operate cloud-based customer and internal services.

The team deployed Trend Micro Deep Security agents across hundreds of AWS servers to provide multi‑layer protection (firewall, IDS/IPS), centralized multi‑tenant management, and change/log monitoring, preserving cloud speed and flexibility. Deep Security detected and blocked real attacks, met DOCOMO’s compliance needs, and is now being expanded and incorporated into DOCOMO’s cloud offerings thanks to its strong cloud compatibility and ecosystem support.
