DealerSocket Protects Sensitive Customer Data in Hybrid Cloud Environment

DealerSocket, a Dallas-based provider of automotive SaaS used by more than 300,000 users at over 9,000 dealerships, needed to protect sensitive credit and customer data across a hybrid cloud environment (AWS and VMware data centers) while supporting a growing DevOps practice. Acquisitions had left the company with a fragmented set of security tools, and the IT team required a scalable, API-driven solution that would simplify management and help maintain PCI DSS and other regulatory compliance.

DealerSocket selected Trend Micro Deep Security to protect endpoints across AWS and its data centers, using antivirus, file integrity monitoring, and network IDS/IPS plus comprehensive reporting. The platform was deployed on 2,000 machines in 30 days, improved incident detection and investigation, and simplified compliance (their last PCI DSS audit took two and a half weeks). Deep Security’s API and scalability also support DealerSocket’s DevOps expansion, including current container security testing.
