UNICEF helps 22,000 people receive life-saving information in under 30 hours with Trello

Unicef's Global Innovation Centre (GIC) faced the challenge of coordinating a globally distributed team across 11 locations and nine time zones to deliver rapid, life-saving support during humanitarian crises. The team needed a collaboration tool that could provide transparency and replace inefficient email threads to better organize their internal efforts. They turned to Trello to create a single source of truth for their critical work.

By implementing Trello, the Unicef GIC team gained a flexible and visual platform to track multiple country-level initiatives simultaneously. The solution enabled a rapid response during Hurricane Irma, helping the team provide life-saving information to over 22,000 people in under 30 hours. Trello's structure allowed the team to organize workflows by country and project, resulting in 89% of recipients finding the information useful and 57% sharing the messages with five or more people, greatly amplifying its impact.
