A Treehouse Case Study

Preview of the Inner City Hope USA Case Study

Inner City Hope USA uses Treehouse to teach students to code and guide them towards life-changing careers

Inner City Hope USA, an educational non-profit, faced the challenge of providing effective computer programming courses to inner-city high school students to guide them toward tech careers. For their pilot program, The Booker Project, they required a primary learning resource and chose the online education platform from Treehouse.

Using Treehouse's interactive curriculum, a facilitator taught over 40 students to code, with building websites and creating apps being the most popular topics. The solution was highly successful, with the program credited for improving student engagement and keeping them in school. As a result, students gained job-ready skills for meaningful employment immediately after graduation. Treehouse provided the central operating system for the program, which Inner City Hope USA plans to expand nationwide.
