Global Retailer, one of the world’s largest retailers, wanted a better way to understand customer behavior, needs, and demand patterns to improve service, personalization, and forecasting. Tredence stepped in when the retailer’s on-premises Hadoop and Teradata environment could no longer support advanced analytics and machine learning at scale, limiting them mainly to historical BI reporting.
Tredence designed and implemented a hybrid analytics platform on Google Cloud Platform using services including BigQuery, Dataproc, and Cloud Storage, along with tools like Tableau and Jupyter. The new Customer Insights Platform unified web, store, app, transactional, demographic, and campaign data into a single source of truth, processed 250 TB of data weekly, reduced computation-heavy processing time by 70%, and lowered overall costs by 30–35%.
