Largest Convenience Retailer - Customer Case Study

The Largest Convenience Retailer, the 3rd largest convenience store chain in the US with more than 2,400 stores, wanted to establish a data and analytics Center of Excellence to improve innovation and efficiency across supply chain, store operations, marketing, merchandising, and other functions. To support this transformation, the retailer partnered with Tredence and leveraged AI and ML alongside a modern data and analytics foundation.

Tredence implemented a flywheel operating model with cross-functional squads focused on data foundation, governance, analyst support, and AI/ML solutions, using Databricks Lakehouse architecture to migrate and redesign 100+ legacy workloads into the cloud. The results included $1M+ in cost savings, a 10% improvement in forecast accuracy worth $5MM and a 5% reduction in spoilage, $15M in shrinkage identified, and an expansion of online assortment from 400 to 1.5K+ SKUs per store.
